How Does Water Affects On Asthma

We had discussed about how the air affects a person here previously. Asthma is commonly known with airway disease, which cause a person wheeze, cough, short of breath, and tightness in the chest. The symptoms can be trigger by pet dander, dust mites, mold, pollen, respiratory infections, exercise, cold air, tobacco smoke, stress, and drug allergies. But, do you know that water contaminants can also worsen your respiratory too?

 

Chlorine can be commonly found in the water, helps on fighting waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid. However, according to Yale University researchers, inhaling chlorine-disinfected drinking water can trigger nerve receptor by causing sneezing, coughing, and irritation.

 

Fluoride is another element that commonly found in water supplies to help fight tooth decay. But, it may trigger the allergy for people with asthma or respiratory conditions.

 

Another threatening chemical element to asthma patient is Nitrogen Oxide, which produced in firing process under high temperatures, such as utility plants, automobiles, and fertilizer production factory. The dangerous gas get into ground water, and if you consume it, it can damage your respiratory organs.

 

To improve the conditions of people asthma or respiratory diseases, drinking filtered or purified water may help. The water filtration system helps on filtering harmful substances to make the water safe for daily consume.  There are several types of water filter available in the market, such whole house water filters, shower filters, washing machine filters, sink filters, and other point of use filter.
